Railway Museum. Vilanova i la Geltrú

This museum contains one of the world's most important collections of trains, as well as an interesting exhibition on the development of railway transport, such an important industry in Vilanova.

Museum of Maritime Curiosities. Vilanova i la Geltrú.

This "Museo de curiositats mariners" houses the private collection built up by the Vilanova master ship builder, Francesc Roig. The museum, which stands just off the sea front, or Passeig Marítim, contains a large collection of miniature boats, countless objects related to ships and the sea and the star attraction, the carp Juanita, a fish that not only has a name, but also eats with a spoon and drinks from the wine pitcher, or porró.

Víctor Balaguer Museum. Vilanova i la Geltrú

The collections in this museum are formed by more than 5,000 objects, including particularly the sections devoted to 19th-century painting and sculpture and 20th-century painting (1956 legacy, paintings from the Cafè Foment Vilanoví, Vilanova School and contemporary art). Other sections are devoted to the decorative arts (ceramics and glass), archaeology and ethnography (pre-Columbian, Philippine, Oriental and Egyptian) and coins and medals.

Terra XIX Romanticism Interpretation Centre. Vilanova i la Geltrú
The Masia d'en Cabanyes is a house and site which still emanates the Romantic spirit that imbued the life and death of the poet Manuel de Cabanyes and the painter Alexandre de Cabanyes. Today, the site houses an Interpretation Centre devoted to the Romantic period.

Museum of the Sea. Vilanova i la Geltrú
This museum is housed in the lighthouse, and provides a glimpse of the relations between the local fishermen and the sea through objects of all kinds.


Cau Ferrat Museum. Sitges
Visitors to Cau Ferrat in their day included the most important painters, musicians, poets and writers of the late-19th century, opening up Catalonia to the most innovative artistic movements of the time through the encouragement of the owner of this superb house, the artist Santiago Rusiñol.

This museum houses extraordinarily valuable cultural heritage embracing many fields of knowledge: ethnography, archaeology, art and natural science.
